So it's been a while since I've done a favorites post, I have a few goodies to share with you. Some are new and others are oldies but goodies. Let's get into it!!!!!
Makeup
In terms of makeup I have been reaching for things that are quick and easy to use with minimal amount of fuss in the morning, and I don't feel like adding layers upon layers of makeup on my face. A no-makeup makeup look, if you will.
Foundation
First is foundation, I've been loving the Bourjous CC foundation since the weather is all over the place right now, this foundation is perfect! Its light formulation really gives the option of adding a little or a lot on the face, depending on how much coverage you need. If you add enough it gives a nice medium coverage. I prefer light coverage.
Visually dynamic close-up of the wands for ya! Because I got your back :) |
Eyes
I've really been into adding just a little something interesting to my upper and lower waterlines, depending my my mood. Sometimes, I use black kohl kajal, or if I'm feeling fancy, I'll use a blue liner, like the NYX Slide On Pencil in SL 14 Sunrise Blue, to add a pop of color. And a little mascara; I've been reaching for Too Faced Better Than Sex or Loreal Miss Manga Rock (or Punky depending on where you are in the world). Both of these really help to volumize and lengthen my lashes and make me look awake.
Ooooh! You so cheekyy! |
Next is blush. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso is the best and gives the perfect amount of color and to the skin without attracting too much attention. After this is bronzer, I've really enjoyed playing with different bronzers all year long, but I have to say my favorite has to be The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 04 Deep Matte. It's perfect, it helps to give my skin that sun-kissed glow and its super buildable color makes it easy to add a little or a lot!
Highlighter
Now we move on to highlighter, and as you probably know by now, I love highlighter. This time I have 3.... yes I said 3. I started the year off with just using a little bit of The Balm Cosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer but one day I decided to be a little daring and add in a little bit of Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze. I know, I know, that sounds like a lot of highlighting, but trust me, if you mix the two together and tap off the excess (I really mean tap off the excess, we want to look luminous, not like a disco ball... unless you want to, I don't judge... we're all friends here, lol) and apply it to the high points of the face (so a little on the cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, and a little on my cupid's bow.) Another fave is the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop.
Lippie
Next is lippie, most of the time I just use any lip balm that's handy and I'm out the door. On days I feel like using a lippie I've been reaching for the Tarte LipSurgence in Energy it adds just enough of that my lips but better color (its one of those lip tints that magical and changes colors depending on your special self). *Note: The swatch color on your hand will be completely different than how it will appear on your lips!
Now that makeup's all done I'm out the door. Oops almost forgot, I also add some kind of setting powder to keep everything in place and you can't forget to curl those lashes! Ok, now we're all done!
Tools
And I'm not talking about tools like a hammer or screw driver but this is just as handy! ;) I know this still counts in the realm of makeup..... well it's not actually makeup but, it's a tool I use to apply makeup. I'm talking about the Beauty Blender! (mine is pretty and pink... well not at the moment, it actually has brown spots on it from all the makeup I use it to blend...) I use this to apply almost everything on my face, and if I do use a brush, I still go back and blend everything into my skin using the Beauty Blender. It's a really nifty little contraption. It literally blends everything in so seamlessly that it doesn't ever look like I'm wearing makeup! (see above photos if you're a visual person and need a visual... again, we're all friends here)
Hair
The NuMe curling wands are the only tools I've used all of 2015 and loved. They're my holy grail when it comes to hair styling tools (aside from a hair dryer, of course). Here is a link to the NuMe website, so you can have at it. :) I recommend the Lustrum set because you can do a bajillion different styles with just the one set!
That's all for now! Share what products or contraptions you've enjoyed in 2015!!
xo, Naznin
