February Favorites and Unfavorites

It's favorites time! And some unfavorites.. I have quite a few products to talk about so go get your favorite drink and snuggle up because this one's going to be a long one folks!

I've decided to divide this post up into different categories so it is easier to read, and just in case you lovely people ever want to refer back to this post to look up a certain product while you are doing your own shopping! So I'm going to try my best to keep it as simple and short as possible. Lets get into it!

Beauty

I'm going to start with beauty favorites first, lets talk makeup. My favorites for makeup are the Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm Cosmetics, a little goes a long way and makes your face glow flawlessly. It's the perfect highlight and with the weather starting to warm up it adds a heavenly glow to the face. Another brightening-ish product that I fell in love with is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer, in the shade Light. Yes, it's a concealer but I use a shade lighter and it works perfectly as an under eye brighter for those days that my dark circles are more prominent. When I first tried this product, about a year ago, I hated it, plain and simple. It made my face look ashy and cakey and just nasty. My first impression was a nightmare, but I decided to give this product another go because everyone in the beauty world seems to be in love with it, and lo and behold... I fell in love. I think the first one I got must have just been a bad batch or something because this time I feel the complete opposite to what I felt when I first tried it.. it's creamy, the application and coverage is flawless and it blends perfectly into my skin! I use it more to cover up my dark circles and the Mary-Lou Manizer more to brighten and highlight. Next, we move on to my all-time favorite lippie of Feburary! It's the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade 030 Smitten. This, in my opinion, is the perfect berry shade for the spring/summer (I know it's not even spring yet but a girl can only hope) and adds the perfect pop of color.

Now, lets move on to other beauty favorites. First, lets talk fragrance because hey who doesn't like to smell good. My favorite fragrance of February was by Victoria's Secret in the scent Coconut Passion. It's a warm scent with rich vanilla and warm coconut. I use both the fragrance mist and the ultra-moisturizing hand and body cream and they leave me smelling yummy all day long! Now, lets move on to hair product, because this girl loves her hair product, and I don't know what's been up with my hair lately... it's just been lacking in the volume department. So, in an effort to fix this problem, I've been on the hunt for a product that wouldn't dry my hair out too much, but would also add loads of texture and volume. In conclusion, I found two products that did the trick. They can be used together or separately. Either way, they are just awesome at giving my hair the texture and volume at the roots which was exactly what I was looking for. These products are both by Garnier Fructis Style, one is called Full & Plush Root Amp Root Lifting Spray Mousse, and the other is De-Constructed Texture Tease Dry Touch Finish Spray. Both are phenomenal products and I feel are a must have.

Fashion

Now, we will shift over to fashion. I've always loved mixing and matching rings to go with whatever look I'm wearing. Let's be honest, rings are a must for me, if there is one type of jewelry I have to put on before I step out the door it's rings or, else I feel weird and my fingers look naked to me. I usually switch out the rings depending on my mood and what I'm wearing but for the whole month of Febuaray I've only reached for this one set of rings that I  loved wearing. The ring with the black onyx stone I got on a recent adventure to Istanbul, Turkey, the squigly thumb ring from Kohl's. The cute dainty daisy ring is from Brandy Melville. The patterned thumb ring I got from my mom, and the rose gold ring is actually a midi ring but I like to wear it on my pinky instead. I've also been loving this white Button -Down Boyfriend Shirt from Wet Seal that I've been wearing pretty much every chance I get. And my absolute favorite are these new pants I got while doing a little shopping at the Camarillo Outlets at the Anne Taylor store. They are navy blue with polka dots! Yes people, polka dots. I'm usually not super adventurous when it comes to fashion, because I'm still learning, but these pants just called out to me the second I saw them. They are super casual but can be dressed up and the biggest plus is that they're super comfortable!

Unfavorites

With every month I find things I like and some I just fall in love with, and every once in a while I'll find things that I just don't like at all. I found two such products this month. Both of these products neither I nor Navshin liked. First, is the Bumble and Bumble Straight Blow Dry which didn't do much for our hair to begin with, but we kept using it because we wanted to be sure it was the product that was not working out for us (yes, people we cut it open and used it all up just to make sure) and I don't like the smell of it either. And the second one is this face cleanser called Formula 10.0.6 Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser; it just didn't work for our faces. I have naturally dry combination skin and it litereally dried out my whole face, even when I took a small amount and used it only once a week. Navshin has extremely oily skin she started to breakout and it really dried up her skin.

Well those are all of the products and goodies and two not so goodies that I came across during the month of February. If there are any products that I've mentioned in this post that you would like a full separate detailed review on, please let us know and either Navshin or I will be more than happy to do one! Also share your favorites and any products we should steer clear of..

'Til next time!
