Espresso

We all have things we want, and obsess over. Sometimes we find them while perusing a magazine or, from someone we see walking by when we are out and about. Inspiration, I mean obsession is something that we find, or as how I like to think of it, it finds you. Yep. And now I'm going to tell you a little story of my new obsession and how it found me. So I was watching a YouTube video from one of my favorite YouTubers, Ingrid Nilsen aka Missglamorazzi. Click here to watch it! It's called "Planning Your Perfect Morning Routine". I was sitting at home watching this video, and then all of a sudden ......BAM! I saw it. My. New. Obsession.

It's an espresso maker, I currently don't own one but I'm on the look out for the perfect one. Being the coffee lover I am, I love all kinds of coffee and I think it's about time for me to expand this love to espresso too! I feel that espresso is one of those things that seem so luxurious and elegant, yet so simple at the same time. I do however have my eye on one that I saw while out shopping with my sister Navshin, and mom at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's $34.99, you can click here to take a look at it. It's called a Bialetti Moka Express 6-cup Model 6800 Espresso Maker (whew that was a mouthful!).

I'm still doing more research before I actually decide to buy one (but the excitement is killing me, I just want one...like right now! lol). I've been looking up all sorts of different recipes that I could incorporate espresso into, (not that I won't enjoy just having a cup of espresso to start my day every morning). I still haven't decided if I want to splurge or if I should buy one that is less expensive or a fancy espresso machine, the possibilities are endless!

Let me know what's your latest obsession, or if you know of any good espressos I should try or if you are a proud owner of an espresso maker.

Loverly Lashes

If there is one thing that I am absolutely obsessed with it's mascara, and making my lashes look long full and just loverly! Long lashes are a must to tie together any look! Giving your lashes a little love can change your whole look by opening them up, and making you look more awake (even if it's too early in the morning and you'd rather be asleep, we've all been there). Who needs false lashes when you can make your lashes look so loverly!

To achieve this you'll need : your favorite mascara or mascaras depending on if you want to layer them, mine is BADgal lash by Benefit (honestly, I love all mascaras and they're one of the things I really get excited to buy, I'm kind of obsessed! That's a story of another blog post), and an eyelash curler.

I start off by first curling my lashes hold for about 5 seconds, then comes the fun part applying mascara! You can choose any mascara(s) that you fancy, I love the look that BADgal lash gives me, the brush is nice and big adding lots of volume and helps to coat and separate each lash. The key is to avoid clumps, because we all know, once you get a clump, it kinda goes all down hill from there. I usually only do one coat of mascara and I'm ready to go!

Sometimes I go over my lashes with a second or, third coat if I feel like I want them to look extra fluttery. You can also mix different mascaras to get the look you are going for. I'll do one coat of BADgal lash mascara, after it dries I'll add one coat of Maybelline's The Rocket Volume Express mascara (seeing a trend here, adding volume equals fuller lashes). wink wink ;) It really depends on what type of mascara you use, I wouldn't recommend doing this with a new mascara that you're trying for the first time since you won't know what to expect and how it will apply on to your lashes, try to go with a mascara that your are comfortable with, and you love!

Hope this helps you all out there that love having fluttery long lashes as much as I do. You can do this everyday not just for a special occasion, when you feel like you adding a little extra to make your look pop!

 What are you favorite mascaras?

Brighten Up!

Did someone say iridescent sparkle and the best glow ever?... Sign me up!  You know when you find that perfect product and you think to yourself every time you use it, "Where were you my whole life, and how I did live without you?" I know, I know, this all might seem a little over the top but, it's how this product makes me feel. Now, let me introduce you to this holy grail that I've been talking about, it's from Lush and it's called Feeling Younger.  This is a versatile product can be used for almost anything and everything... literally EVERYTHING. Lush describes this skin tint as "...pigment that reflects light, brightening cheek bones, brow bones, the inner eyelid or even your décolletage for a sexy glow.".

As you can see this product has been well loved!
This has become my one go to product that I have to use when I do my makeup, or even when I'm feeling lazy and want to put in as little effort as possible and still look put together. When I first bought this product I was a little skeptical as to how well it would work for me. I originally bought it to help with my dark circles or as I like to call them my "raccoon eyes" (yes, i know it's dramatic, but they are dark enough! Okay, maybe not that dark...). Sure raccoons are cute and all, (except when you see them digging in your garbage for food in the middle of the night and it freaks you out!!). This product is a skin tint, basically what that means is that it reflects light to make you look brighter, giving your skin that "healthy glow from within" ( something I really love). It comes in a 0.7oz jar and is $18.95, I know that is a bit on the pricey side but it's money well spent.

Both pictures are of swatches in natural light
It's creamy in consistency and application. After putting on concealer, I just dab a little on with my ring finger and tap it on underneath my eyes, starting at the inner corner and working my way out and a little down the bridge of my nose, making sure to blend the product in well and voilà! Under-eye area, brightened. I also use it to give my whole face an overall natural glow, I just mix a small amount (a little goes a long way with this stuff) into my moisturizer and apply it to my entire face. Another plus, is the mixture of cocoa butter, almond and jojoba oils that really help to nourish the skin. Also, it does not just sit on top of your skin adding a layer and make you feel cakey.

Well that's all for now, and don't forget to follow Navshin and I on Twitter and Pinterest for even more fun!

Have you ever used a skin tint or any highlight product that you just can't get enough of?
