BareMinerals Complexion Rescue

So at the start of a new year I've found a new foundation love. It's the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream!

Actually I've been using this for a while now, and I have to say I never would've thought that I would ever be so in love with a base as I am with this one. Add a little, add a lot, tailor the amount of coverage so it is absolutely perfs for you! Basically, it is your typical tinted moisturizer but not oily, which is awesome.

Can I just say how much we love this photo?

Its unique formulation is just what I need for my skin with the weather being cooler lately, and the best part is the broad spectrum SPF 30! The thing I love most about this is its ability to blend in seamlessly with the skin. Don't get me wrong I love all of the foundations I use, but this one, I feel like I spend the least amount of type blending into my skin. It practically blends itself. How and why you ask? Well here is a nifty little video that will explain why this tinted moisturizer is different from others.. enjoy! Now that you've watched it, go out there and grab some and try it out for yourself!

What foundation or base have you been loving or want to try ?

Til next time,

Urban Decay Cosmic Travel Size Set of 5 Eye Pencils

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, perfect for all eyes.... especially brown eyes. This travel-size set of 5 eyeliner pencils, comes with the shades: Zero, Stag, Cosmic, Trick, Supply. They come in a cute little packaged box that is ready to go with you on your next adventure, just plop it in your make-up bag. Cosmic is the perfect shade to add to inner corner to give it some added brightness. Smudge Stag on top and bottom of eyes for a smokey eye look. You can also line upper and lower waterlines, with Stag, Trick and Supply, this enhances brown eyes. These eyeliner pencils are super pigmented, do not budge once they set, and complete any look! The neutral shades are perfect for travel not only because of their miniature size but also for their versatility, from a very natural everyday look to a glammed up night out!

Zero: a matte black and also Urban Decay's best-selling black. You need this in your life.

Stag: deep brown satin. A dark brown with subtle sheen.

Cosmic: an iridescent, metallic white

Trick: A rose-gold-esque copper with shimmer. This shade is beautiful.

Supply: if chocolate and copper had a baby, it would be this shade. With a metallic finish.

That's all for now,

An Ode to Dior AirFlash

When we rediscover an old favorite, its one of those miraculous moments, and we question ourselves, "Why did we ever stop using you?!!!" And then we vow to never stop using said product again, but sometimes, life happens, and new product trials come about, and we forget about "Little, Old Faithful" but then it comes back into our lives and changes it for the better.
Such a product is the Dior AirFlash Spray foundation. Being around $60 a bottle (or can), this thing is a serious splurge. When I pulled this gem out from the back of the drawer for a wedding I went to a few weeks ago, I wasn't expecting such a surprise. I mean, I've used it before and I've always loved it, but I guess I had just forgotten how amazingly spectacular it actually is!

Talk about airbrush in a can thing!! Okay, yeah, I know they make those airbrush foundation systems that work amazingly (I've not gotten the chance to use one of those yet, but I'd love to!). But, I feel like the Dior AirFlash is a bit more convenient, as you only need the product and a mode of application, whether that may be a brush,  Beauty Blender, or your fingers. My weapons of choice are a brush or Beauty Blender.

That shade match though... *swoon* And it blends like a dream!
With the brush, I spray a bit of the foundation onto the brush (I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, but any type of large, buffing brush will do!) and then, buff it onto my face, focusing on the areas I need more coverage, aka, the center of my face. I would describe the coverage as medium to full and very, easily buildable. It gives you that "your skin but better" look yet feels like you are wearing nothing at all. I use the shade Medium Beige 300 and it is a perfect match for my skin tone. Also, the gentleman helping me out at the Dior counter when I bought it said it can be used to give that airbrushed look on any part of your body, and it is used for magazine or fashion shoots. Cool!

The Dior AirFlash Spray foundation retails for about $62 and can be found at Sephora or your local Dior counter.

Nars The Multiple Copacabana

Best thing to happen to me... like ever. It's rich, it's creamy, it glides on and blends in like a dream, what else could anyone ask for?!
Described on the Nars website as " the original multi-purpose stick for eyes, cheeks, lips and body. Its unique creamy formula and sheer color blends effortlessly to create shimmering accents; contours or dynamic highlights on all skin tones" It really doesn't disappoint!

With a cream-to-powder formulation, it is super easy to use. I have the shade Copacabana which is described by Nars as a "glistening pearl". It has a very subtle silver sheen in it as well, which makes it a great product for everyday.

I haven't been using this product for a long time but I can already tell it's going to definitely be a part of the products I will reach for everyday! It can be used for several different things..... hence the name Multiple. I've only used it for highlighting purposes and I gotta say... it's right up there with The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer! This one in particular is great for all skin shades, and gives the skin that flawless glow. I. Am. In. Love.

2015 Favorites

So it's been a while since I've done a favorites post, I have a few goodies to share with you. Some are new and others are oldies but goodies. Let's get into it!!!!!

Makeup

In terms of makeup I have been reaching for things that are quick and easy to use with minimal amount of fuss in the morning, and I don't feel like adding layers upon layers of makeup on my face. A no-makeup makeup look, if you will.

Foundation
First is foundation, I've been loving the Bourjous CC foundation since the weather is all over the place right now, this foundation is perfect! Its light formulation really gives the option of adding a little or a lot on the face, depending on how much coverage you need. If you add enough it gives a nice medium coverage. I prefer light coverage.

Visually dynamic close-up of the wands for ya! Because I got your back :)

Eyes
I've really been into adding just a little something interesting to my upper and lower waterlines, depending my my mood. Sometimes, I use black kohl kajal, or if I'm feeling fancy, I'll use a blue liner, like the NYX Slide On Pencil in SL 14 Sunrise Blue, to add a pop of color.  And a little mascara; I've been reaching for Too Faced Better Than Sex or Loreal Miss Manga Rock (or Punky depending on where you are in the world). Both of these really help to volumize and lengthen my lashes and make me look awake.

Ooooh! You so cheekyy!

Blush and Bronzer
Next is blush. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso is the best and gives the perfect amount of color and to the skin without attracting too much attention. After this is bronzer, I've really enjoyed playing with different bronzers all year long, but I have to say my favorite has to be The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 04 Deep Matte. It's perfect, it helps to give my skin that sun-kissed glow and its super buildable color makes it easy to add a little or a lot!

Highlighter
Now we move on to highlighter, and as you probably know by now, I love highlighter. This time I have 3.... yes I said 3. I started the year off with just using a little bit of The Balm Cosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer but one day I decided to be a little daring and add in a little bit of Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze. I know, I know, that sounds like a lot of highlighting, but trust me, if you mix the two together and tap off the excess (I really mean tap off the excess, we want to look luminous, not like a disco ball... unless you want to, I don't judge... we're all friends here, lol) and apply it to the high points of the face (so a little on the cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, and a little on my cupid's bow.) Another fave is the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop.

Lippie
Next is lippie, most of the time I just use any lip balm that's handy and I'm out the door. On days I feel like using a lippie I've been reaching for the Tarte LipSurgence in Energy it adds just enough of that my lips but better color (its one of those lip tints that magical and changes colors depending on your special self). *Note: The swatch color on your hand will be completely different than how it will appear on your lips!

Now that makeup's all done I'm out the door. Oops almost forgot, I also add some kind of setting powder to keep everything in place and you can't forget to curl those lashes! Ok, now we're all done!

Tools
And I'm not talking about tools like a hammer or screw driver but this is just as handy! ;) I know this still counts in the realm of makeup..... well it's not actually makeup but, it's a tool I use to apply makeup. I'm talking about the Beauty Blender! (mine is pretty and pink... well not at the moment, it actually has brown spots on it from all the makeup I use it to blend...) I use this to apply almost everything on my face, and if I do use a brush, I still go back and blend everything into my skin using the Beauty Blender. It's a really nifty little contraption. It literally blends everything in so seamlessly that it doesn't ever look like I'm wearing makeup! (see above photos if you're a visual person and need a visual... again, we're all friends here)

Hair

The NuMe curling wands are the only tools I've used all of 2015 and loved. They're my holy grail when it comes to hair styling tools (aside from a hair dryer, of course). Here is a link to the NuMe website, so you can have at it. :) I recommend the Lustrum set because you can do a bajillion different styles with just the one set!

That's all for now! Share what products or contraptions you've enjoyed in 2015!!
