March Favorites

Hey, hey, hey! A month is now over, so we all know what that means... A favorites post!! It's been a month of new discoveries as well as REdiscoveries, so keep on reading to see what's been up favorites-wise in the life of Navshin! :)

Prescribed Solutions Up the Anti Broad Spectrum SPF 30
Yes, it sounds like a prescription, medical treatment thing that you get from your friendly doctor's office, but it isn't. I happened to come across this little gem at the place where I get laser hair removal (more info on that soon). It is a sunscreen that comes out purple at first but then magically adjusts to your skin tone as you apply it. Light, and easy, perfect for those early morning class days, when I'm too sleepy (more like too lazy!).

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Bronze and The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

Highlighters in general have been a new thing for me during March. As a girl who has extremely oily skin, (I kid you not, I look like a disco ball if I don't blot on time) I was always afraid of the number a highlighter would do to my already "ooh, so shiny!" face. After seeing these beautiful things called highlighters and having quite a collection, because my sister, Naznin, loves them so much, one day, I just thought, "Screw it, so what if i look like a disco ball! I'm just gonna take the plunge." And I did. And let me tell you, I am thrilled. The Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick is the best thing ever because it is just the right amount of highlight. And for the days I'm feeling like I want to look like the heaven's are shining down on my face, I use the Mary-Lou Manizer. Just a little will do the trick, right on the cheekbones, and a tad bit down the nose.

Rimmel Soft Kohl Eyeliner in 025 Royal Blue

Since its officially spring, I like throwing in some colored eyeliner to my makeup mix (not that I need an excuse to wear colored eyeliner, I wear it year-round). But this has been my go-to during March. Easy to use, and a lovely shade of shimmery ocean-y, turquoise-y blue. I also feel like it makes my brown eyes pop, and look browner. Worn on the top lash line in a clean cat-eye/wing or smudged out all around the eye, this thing is the bomb.com.

Sigma Large Angled Contour F40 Brush

Decided to change up the blush application in March. I felt my usual blush brush wasn't applying as much product as I liked, so I switched to this brush. Very soft and fluffy, and the synthetic fibers apply the perfect amount of blush. The shape of this blush helps make application easier too.

Tangle Teezer

This thing is life changing. Truthfully. I used to swear by wide-tooth combs to take care of the few knots I get in my hair, but the Tangle Teezer is phenomenal. Easy to hold and easy to find, since it is a bright, "I need sunglasses" shade of pink. Used it on my little cousins who have very tangly hair and it was a breeze, they didn't cry and they sat there and happily got their hair brushed. It was adorable. :D

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 styling treatment

New favorite hair product. Will be added into current rotation of favorite hair products. Loved by myself, Naznin, and our mom. Makes my hair smooth, shiny, frizz free, and helps detangle and cut blow-dry time in half.

It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in plus Keratin

Always a favorite hurr product. Came back to it after what was like 5 or 6 months? I seriously don't know why it took us so long to come back to it. It helps detangle, defrizz, adds shine, and speeds up the blow-dry process, along with a whole mess of other things. One product that does it all? Shut up and take my money!!!!

Line Stud Earrings

These are my new favorite earrings of life. They're so simple and clean and they go with everything. Have not taken them off since I got them. Got them off of Etsy and they are sterling silver and were super affordable.

Palm Cuff Bracelet

I love Stacy London. She's a fashion genius, for those of you who don't know who she is. Me, my sister, and mom were watching her new show on TLC, Love, Lust, or Run and she was wearing this thing around her palm. Of course, her's was most likely by a high end jewelry brand, but I instantly knew I had to have one and the search on the Internets began. I guess they haven't quite hit the mainstream retailers yet because they only have palm bracelets available from the high end jewelry brands/designers, but I was able to find an affordable one off of Etsy. And I've worn it pretty much everyday since it came.

Rag & Bone

My new favorite fashion brand. They make the best booties I have ever seen. I tried on a pair I happened to come across at Nordstrom Rack, and though they were a size too small for me (still so mad about this btw), they were terrifically comfortable. Becoming a proud owner of a pair of Rag & Bone booties has made it onto my list.

Rodarte

High couture fashion brand founded by LA based sisters. They're spring/summer 2015 collection is b-e-a-utiful.

Seinfeld Episode

For those of you who don't know, I am a bit obsessed with Seinfeld. If Seinfeld is on TV, that is what I'm watching, no questions asked. This month I watched an episode I haven't seen before, called "The Seven." The usual shenanigans of the show about nothing continue: Elaine and Kramer get into a spat regarding a bike and Elaine strains her neck, Jerry can't figure out why the girl he is dating is always wearing the same dress every time he sees her, and George reveals that he wants to name his future child Seven... yes, Seven. The name Soda also comes up as a perspective baby name.

Music

Take Me to Church by Hozier (I love this song! Going strong for about 2 months now! One of my cousin's and I send snapchats of this song back and forth to each other whenever we hear it. Why? I don't know.. don't judge me!)
Sugar by Maroon 5 (One of my favorite bands, ever. I dance to this song and my sister says "No, Navshin, just no" I don't seem to understand why though.. haha)
Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding
Earned It by The Weeknd

Unfavorites

I personally did not come across anything this month that I wasn't particularly fond of. However, my loverly friend, Clarissa, let me know that the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Concealer is a menace. She said it looks dry and gross on. So, I will take her advice, because she knows a thing or two about makeup and stuff, and not bother with that one. :)

That's all for now! Thanks for reading and keep your eye out for a bunch more upcoming posts!!

xo, Navshin
